Check-In – Continuous Medications
Continuous Medications Between Cycles
Some medications are not refilled by the pharmacy every cycle. Here’s how eMARx handles them:
- No New Tile from Pharmacy
- You won’t receive a new medication tile specifically from the pharmacy for these medications during check-in. (If you look at the Medication information box to the right it shows where this tile came from; Pharmacy, Carried Forward, Manually Added)
- Automatic Tile Recreation
- If the medication hasn’t been stopped in the current cycle, eMARx will recreate the tile in the new cycle.
- A green arrow will appear on the tile to show it has carried over from the previous cycle.
- Check-In Required
- Even though the tile is recreated, you still need to check in the medication. (It will be red with a green arrow)
- Stock Display During Transition
- The stock will remain in the previous cycle until the new cycle starts.
- You might see zero stock when checking in, but don’t worry—it’s normal.
- The stock count will update once the new cycle begins and the STOCK CARRIED FORWARD has taken place.
Note: If the medication is no longer needed, make sure to stop the tile to prevent it from carrying over.
