Meds Round – Administering Medications in eMARx

During a medication round in eMARx, start by clicking the Meds Round icon and selecting the appropriate resident. Choose the medication to administer and scan its barcode. Ensure the Prepare Medication option is selected, and review the medication history and the resident’s notes as needed. After saving and verifying the dosage quantity, the medication will appear as “put in the cup.” Repeat this process for all medications. Once all medications are prepared, click the Hibernate icon to lock the device before administering the medications to the resident. After administration, log back into eMARx to mark each medication as administered by clicking the green tick beside each one. The system utilises a traffic light coding system to indicate the status of each medication, allowing you to quickly identify which resident’s medications have been administered, or are still pending.
